Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder Surgery)

A Cholecystectomy is a surgical procedure to remove your gallbladder.

The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ in your abdomen that collects and stores bile.  At times, hard deposits called gallstones can form.

A Cholecystectomy is a very common surgery performed to treat the pain and discomfort caused by gallstones and gallbladder related issues.

Gallbladder Surgery Cholecystectomy

A cholecystectomy is a surgical procedure to remove your gallbladder.  The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ in your abdomen that collects and stores bile.

Small, hard deposits called gallstones can form in the gallbladder or bile duct.  These gallstones in your gallbladder can cause mild discomfort to severe pain.

You might experience some relief from gallstones by changing your diet.  Gallstones rarely go away on there own and typically require surgery to remove.  You might also require surgery if you have an inflamed gallbladder, large gallbladder polys, or pancreatitis due to gallstones.

Having surgery can ease the pain and discomfort of gallstones and/or inflammation of this area. It is one of the most common surgeries we perform and in most cases, you can go home the same day as your surgery.

Dr. Cribbins performs this procedure using minimally invasive laparoscopic or advanced robotic techniques.

We have a simple goal, to fix your problem and let you get back to your life!
