Keli McCalman, DO, FACOS

Dr. Keli McCalman is a talented and compassionate board-certified surgeon.   She is fellowship-trained in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery.  Dr. McCalman is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). She was born and raised in Texas.  She earned her medical degree from the University of North Texas-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her heart and passion for practicing medicine are as big as her home state.

Dr. McCalman completed her internship and residency through the Michigan State University program at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.  She accepted a Fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery.  Her fellowship was with the notable Karl LeBlanc, MD at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dr. McCalman began her surgical career in Beaumont, Texas. She created the first Bariatric committee at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. She served as the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery.  Under her leadership, the program was awarded the distinction of a Comprehensive Bariatric Center of Excellence.  The non-medical community voted Dr. McCalman “Best in Bariatrics” in a readers poll by the Beaumont Enterprise.

In 2017 Dr. McCalman embraced the opportunity to join the Texas Center for Bariatrics and Advanced Surgery returning her home to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

When Dr. McCalman takes off her white coat she heads home to her husband, Dave, and their two children. Keli and Dave are active in their church, children’s school, sports teams, and enjoy the great outdoors.
